Department (Major) Overview and Key Features
The Department of Global Management (Elderly Care & Social Services Track)is a specialized academic program exclusively designed for
international students.
It was established to respond to the growing demand for healthcare and social welfare services in Korea, driven by the country’s rapidly aging
population.
∙ Customized 3-Year, 6-Semester Program :
The program is operated as a three-year curriculum consisting of six semesters, providing advanced theoretical education and extensive practical
training.
Upon graduation, students are equipped with professional competencies required in the field.
∙ Language and Settlement Support :
To support smooth adaptation and stable settlement in Korea, Korean language courses based on the Korea Immigration & Integration Program
(KIIP)are incorporated into the regular curriculum
∙ Cultural Understanding Education :
In addition to Korean language instruction, liberal arts courses on Korean culture are offered in parallel to foster a deep understanding of Korean
society and to strengthen students’ sense of belonging.
∙ Practice-Oriented Curriculum

The curriculum focuses on practical training, enabling students to acquire specialized knowledge in social welfare and elderly care services.
Through on-site practicum and field training, students develop job-ready skills that allow them to be immediately employed upon graduation

The Elderly Care & Social Services Track of the Department of Global Management aims to cultivate practice-oriented professionals equipped
with advanced competencies in professional interviewing and assessment, as well as in program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
These competencies enable graduates to effectively address the needs and resolve the challenges of individuals, families, groups, and local
communities.
Through this educational approach, the program seeks to develop professional practitioners who can contribute meaningfully in practical field
settings based on a strong foundation of social welfare values and ethical principles

Through systematic education linked to the Korea Immigration & Integration Program (KIIP), students develop Korean language proficiency
essential for stable settlement in Korean society.
This enables effective communication and rapid adaptation to the healthcare and elderly care work environments in Korea.
∙ Enhancing Professional Expertise in Health, Welfare, and Elderly Care :
By acquiring in-depth theoretical knowledge and practical skills related to elderly welfare and care services, students grow into health and
social welfare professionals who respect human dignity and are capable of providing high-quality care to senior citizens.
∙ Emotional Care Practice through Understanding K-Culture (K-POP) Trends :
By studying globally popular K-POP and Korean cultural trends and applying them to recreational and emotional support programs for the
elderly, the program cultivates next-generation “K-Care Professionals”who can communicate across generations and cultures while providing
joy and emotional well-being to seniors

By integrating professional knowledge in social welfare with a deep understanding of Korean culture, the program aims to develop creative

Professional Qualification to Be Obtained
∙ Social Worker, Level 2 (Issued by: Ministry of Health and Welfare, Republic of Korea)
For applicants who began completing Social Welfare major courses and social welfare–related courses after 2020:
Regardless of the applicant’s major or department, individuals who have completed at least 10 required courses and 7 or more elective
coursesamong the “Social Welfare Major Courses and Social Welfare–Related Courses”as prescribed by the regulations of the Ministry of Health
and Welfare, and who have obtained a bachelor’s degree, are eligible.
